The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are founding partners of the Global Deal partnership.
We were asked by OECD to present a concept that would highlight the Global Deal in a concise and easy-to-understand way to act as a quick reference in meetings especially in the private sector. We started by looking at strong but simple images that would be universally recognised, for immediate impact. Our “join the table’ concept was chosen and the headline was later amended to ‘Join the partnership’ to accentuate the essence of the initiative.
The Global Deal has been written about at length yet, up to this point, it has’t been so succinctly expressed. Working closely with OECD, and indirectly ILO, to ensure that all messages and stakeholder standpoints were reflected, we arrived at a word count of just 282, helped along by our infographics of course. The new hand-out delivers crisp and compact answers to ‘What does it mean to be a Global Deal partner?’, an incisive illustration of benefits and clear directions for how to join.
“Joining the Global Deal enables knowledge-sharing among partners – the exchange of ideas, good practices, experiences and lessons learned. It is also a platform for joint projects, to interact on policy advice and research, building on already established initiatives and processes.”

“Our vision is for a better future of decent work, inclusive growth and sustainable development with Global Deal partners moving forward together towards these shared goals. Respecting, implementing and promoting fundamental ILO conventions provides the basis to achieve these goals.”
